Whether it’s amazing weight loss, home improvement or celebrity facelifts, I find myself quite fascinated to see the before and after pictures that pop up so often in newspapers and magazines, and now more commonly in people's blogs! There is something about major change, be it an improvement or not, that interests me - perhaps too many "spot the difference" games as a child?
In this case, I thought I'd share with you an early picture showing the sad neglected space we took on a while ago so you can look back and marvel at the change from that to glorious wine merchant and brilliant wine bar and lounge that is opening soon in Ripon.
Well on its way to being finished, Ake & Humphris Ripon, is definitely undergoing major change. Starting with a "before" photo taken a month ago (see above) and a "during renovation" photo showing Paul filling the new shelves with wine (below). It has been amazing being involved in this transformation and seeing what a lot of elbow grease and some wood stain can achieve! Keep watching this space. Or come along and see for yourself when we open later this month...
We’ll be open to the public 5 days a week from Thursday 16th July from 11am where we will be bringing our hand-picked selection of wines and beers to HG4, moving in to the downstairs spot previously known as Great Northern Wine at The Warehouse, Blossomgate, Ripon. We are delighted to be accompanied by the excellent Friends of Wine upstairs, linked to the Royal Oak, providing a warehouse style lounge and bar, and also serving cheese and charcuterie that are all simply top notch.
Located directly behind Booths, close to Calverts Carpets, King Billy's pub and opposite Moonglu bike shop, you'll find us open on Blossomgate from Tuesday - Saturday from the middle of July and we can't wait!
