Portugal seems to have slowly carved out a niche for big chewy satisfying reds that somehow don’t leave your mouth feeling like sandpaper. This is a deliciously powerful wine that will cope with whatever food pairing you choose to throw at it, mushroom biriyani, pepperoni pizza or ox tail pies, it’ll handle it all with ease. Maybe not squid though..
