This intense Islay whisky is not for the faint hearted. It is for any die hard fan of smokey, peaty whiskies, aka "peat-heads". The first thing to note is its age, having spent 8 years in barrel rather than 10, 12 or 16 (which occurs quite a bit on Islay), this whisky is much closer to its vivid new make spirit which contains maximum peatiness, in its untempered state. Fans of Laphroaig and Ardbeg will find this particularly invigorating. Once tasted, it's hard to think of a whisky with a longer finish.
