Gentle aromas of Jazz apples and Werther's Original make for an alluring introduction to this finely crafted South African beauty. Upon diving in there's evidently a whole host of complex flavours. From fruity pear and pineapple all the way through to some understated buttery oaky notes. Where this wine excels is in the aftertaste, savoury, mineral-driven and almost delicately saline. There's also a healthy and appealing dose of mouth-watering fruit acidity making it an exciting food partner. It's not alarmingly heavy in any way. Texturally it's bright and taught with some creaminess to balance out its freshness and there is almost a faint tannic grip from lees aging. Overall, this makes Burgundy look grossly expensive for the experience when this delivers so much excitement for under £20. Don't miss it, there's not an endless supply of this puppy!
